When should you consider a Nephrologist?
Your primary care physician may refer you to Naples Nephrology for treatment. Suppose you do not have a primary care physician. In that case, you should consider contacting Naples Nephrology if you experience signs and symptoms that could be related to kidney disease, such as swelling in the legs, recurrent kidney stones or electrolyte problems. Extremely difficult to control hypertension is also managed by a nephrologist. Early referral is essential to avoid unwanted delays if you are on dialysis or nearing end-stage kidney disease and want to be considered for a kidney transplant. Look for a Nephrologist who is board certified and is involved in transplant nephrology and patient education.
Why choose Naples Nephrology?
At Naples Nephrology, we diagnose the problem, educate the patient and help to make the necessary lifestyle adjustments to help slow the progression of kidney failure. If the disease has progressed to end-stage, then we encourage therapies that parallel your lifestyle prior to illness.
